A pesar del creciente uso de tarjetas de cr\u00e9dito y d\u00e9bito y las opciones de pago digital, la demanda de efectivo sigue siendo notable en la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con una red de 3,085 cajeros autom\u00e1ticos en todo el pa\u00eds, las entidades financieras se esfuerzan por satisfacer esta demanda constante de efectivo. Seg\u00fan datos del Sistema de Pagos de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana (Sipard), cada mes se recargan los cajeros con entre RD$38,495 millones y 66,380.6 millones de pesos. Esta cifra es equivalente al presupuesto asignado a la Presidencia de la Rep\u00fablica o incluso a la suma de los presupuestos de los Ministerios de Obras P\u00fablicas, Agricultura y Medio Ambiente, combinados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La recarga de efectivo alcanza su punto m\u00e1ximo en diciembre, cuando tanto el sector p\u00fablico como el privado pagan el doble sueldo o la regal\u00eda pascual. Sin embargo, las transacciones en los cajeros autom\u00e1ticos son m\u00e1s frecuentes cerca de las fechas de pago, especialmente a mediados y finales de mes, cuando los trabajadores retiran sus salarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En t\u00e9rminos de distribuci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica, la zona metropolitana cuenta con la mayor cantidad de cajeros autom\u00e1ticos, con 1,521 instalados. Le sigue la zona norte con 899, el este con 466 y el sur con 199. La mayor\u00eda de estos cajeros, es decir, 2,793, pertenecen a los bancos m\u00faltiples, seg\u00fan informaci\u00f3n proporcionada por la Superintendencia de Bancos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este fen\u00f3meno resalta la persistente preferencia por el dinero en efectivo y la importancia de los cajeros autom\u00e1ticos como una fuente vital de acceso a efectivo en la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana.
